I recently had the opportunity to preach this message in two services at a local county jail, and I believe the Lord used His Word in a meaningful way. There were some great responses, and I am thankful for every opportunity to point the lost and hopeless to the mercy of God in Christ.

In Acts 2, Peter stands before the men of Israel and lays a sobering charge at their feet. They had rejected and crucified the very Christ God had approved, appointed, and raised from the dead. But this message is not only about the guilt of those who stood in Jerusalem that day. It reaches every one of us. Our sin placed Christ on the cross. There is blood on our hands.

But praise God, there is mercy in His heart.

This sermon walks through Peter’s words in Acts 2:22-24 and shows us the approved Christ, the appointed cross, the accusing crime, and the assured conquest of the resurrection. The same blood that exposes our guilt is the blood that can wash our guilt away.

Listen to this message and be reminded that Jesus Christ died for sinners, rose again in victory, and still saves all who come to Him in repentance and faith.
